Wiper arm removal!!

Can anyone tell me real quick how to remove the entire driver side wiper arm on a 1999 Chevy 2500 work truck?

There is a cover on the gear that looks like it should just pop off, but it won't budge.

Thanks!

Thumbs up Re: Wiper arm removal!!

To remove the wiper arm.

1 Mark the position of the wiper blade on the windshield with some masking tape.

2 Remove the washer hose.

3 Lift the wiper arm from the windshield.

4 Disengage the retaining latch/tab @ the base of the wiper arm with a screwdriver outward.

5 Remove the wiper arm from the transmission drive shaft/post.

6 Reverse the proceedures above to reinstall using the tape mark on the windshield as your alignment referance.
