Woo Hoo, I've just ordered all the parts for an oil and plug change, PCV Valve, rear diff gasket (gonna pull the cover, clean out and change the oil, may as well count the teeth whilst I'm in there) a 25ft coil of 3/8" copper fuel line, some 3/8" S/S braided hose and a new fuel filter and loads of nice shiny new hose clamps to re-plumb all my fuel lines.

Just gotta use up all the gas I put in the other day and persuade my wife that the 20 tons of topsoil she ordered that needs me to shovel it into a wheelbarrow and move it to the designated location in the garden can wait for a day or two. (Shoveled about 5 tons yesterday, feeling a little stiff today!)

Phil, I know how you feel. I used my truck and a wheelbarrow to build a slope on one side of the house for drainage. And Red Dwarf was one of my favorite shows.

Just curious, are there alot of our trucks in the U.K.? I like to see heads turn when I drive my '72, I can only imagine how many looks you get .

There's a few of us around, I know two others, one of whom is a member of this board (68racer) and have seen a few others for sale in magazines. I certainly get a lot of attention wherever I go though and have to allow extra time when visiting any car related business for people to peer under the hood!

And Hanssolo, all I can say to you is "Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast!"

So, my supplier in the UK shipped my service parts on a next day courier service. They finally arrived today five days late because the carrier "couldn't find" my house (it's only been here for exactly 100 years) The parcel was split in two places and squashed.

When I opened it the spark plugs I'd ordered were missing and even worse the supplier had mis-picked the order and sent me the wrong grade of oil (20W50 instead of the 10W30 I'd ordered) I'm trying to get a service in before I go to my big show of the year on Sunday. The supplier is sending me replacement oil and plugs so hopefully I'll get them in time.

On the plus side I did manage to get the fuel lines done at the weekend see pics below.

The fuel line parts came from a different supplier, I also had enough braided line to do the PCV line.

This is a shot of the used replacement power steering pump and pulleys I fitted recently, gave it a few coats of primer and satin black paint from a spraycan. Looks OK and lines up with all the pulleys properly which the one it replaced didn't.

Looks great Phil, but here is my little piece of advice from across the pond. You were reworking your fuel lines to prevent fire and left a major hazard in place...that glass fuel filter. Do yourself a big favor and buy a real fuel filter and use that thing for a paperweight. I had one on a car for over 4 years and one day it came apart because the threads stripped. It really sucks to sit there and watch gas flowing all over your pride and joy. I lucked out and it didn't catch fire but I did have to get the car towed. Well that's my 2 halfpence for whatever its worth.

What kind of filter do you recommend? This was the only 3/8" fuel filter I could find, remember, I am in the UK and so don't have as wide a choice, we tend not to have fuel lines of this size as we don't generally have engines this big. Any recommendations gratefully received, I am coming over to the US on holiday in September so maybe I can pick up a case of them whilst I'm over.

Fram actually makes a nice little metal filter approximately the same size as the glass unit. I have one each on the carbs (now in a box) for the 914/6. The in/out size may be a tad smaller though. I'll get you a part number and the size later today after I get home from work.

Truck looks great BTW. Under the "bonnet" anyway. Post a pic of the entire truck?
