Here's a short box regular cab modern truck
You just don't see many of these, at least around here, and I wasn't honestly 100% sure they still offered them, so I took a pic!

How did you get close enough to get a good pic of it? I'm surprised it didn't scare and run away.

Re: Here's a short box regular cab modern truck
Here's one I found and wanted to buy. I only like regular cabs. I don't follow about new or newer vehicles but one thing I try to keep up on is if regular cab has been dropped yet. It should take a while, but when I heard Toyota dropped them I knew the day will probably come. But GMs are used for commercial applications... you know, used as trucks, compared to Toyotas being mostly consumer bought

Prefer a 2500 because - well, you might as well be able to carry a load in that long bed Wife would have to have an automatic, but I'd want a stick. I suppose you can't get that anymore?

Re: Here's a short box regular cab modern truck
Here is a picture of my 08 that I bought back in 2012. Regular cab with a short bed. The only thing wrong what it was it was a v-6, v-6 power but v-8 fuel economy. I bought it used because it was the only one I could fine. I was tired of going low so I went with 20" wheels on it, but in 2017 somebody liked it more than me.

Re: Here's a short box regular cab modern truck
Oh yeah, especially a 4x4 - as long as it is a regular cab. That's just about as short as an original Blazer.
I've only had one short box in my life: a 2wd stepside that I traded some wood for. It became my chainsaw and tool pickup and was very handy for going into the woods compared to my 2 ton log truck or LWB pickup/camper. With a four speed manual I never really found anyplace that I couldn't go with it. I even drove it up the west side of Tincup Pass 30 years ago one evening with my wife and daughters. But I hear the road is a lot rougher now than it used to be. Back then you could drive a car up the east side from St Elmo without any trouble; only about the first 1/4 mile down the west side from the top was really rough (not counting the "Old Tincup Pass" which you can avoid). But for an all around pickup the long box is the only way to go. I would sure like to find a LWB stepside 4x4 squarebody PS: Like a damn fool I went and sold that 1965 stepside when I got sick and went back to school. We were living in town then and I thought "why do we need two vehicles?"

Re: Here's a short box regular cab modern truck
Reg cab shortbed fleetsides are the truck of choice for air bags with an aftermarket moonroof popped open in the rear only. I was so amazed how cookie cutter the same they are I started asking owners. Guess its just the thing kids are into these days to be different with all the quad cab lifted trucks running around everywhere. Still don't know why they all have moonroofs installed though.

Re: Here's a short box regular cab modern truck
If I did not need a crew cab I would have a rcsb. The.middle east gets step sides, and I would like to build one of I had a rcsb. They just use repo square body step sides. I would make my own bed, and add the wheel wells. Then add the factory wheel lip from the fleet side to the step side. This way it looks like it was made for the truck.
Stupid family responsibilities. Ruining my vehicle choices. |

There are real advantages to a regular cab shortbed truck. You can easily park and do uturns. Makes a difference in the city.

And off-road also, unless you need to carry a bigger load.
