Cool 1970 Panel 4x4 Conversion

Hey All-

I've got a '70 panel truck that I'm planning on putting four wheel drive under. Did the 4x4 running gear in '70 come with disc brakes? 71 or 72? It seems to be a straight forward swap with leaf springs repacing the A arms. Any help greatly appriciated.

Re: 1970 Panel 4x4 Conversion

Disk brakes started in our style trucks with the 71 model. Too bad you werent asking about this this summer. I cut up a 72 burb 4x4 chassis because no one wanted it. Panel and burb frames are set up exactly the same, the trucks are a little bit different in the rear...cross member or something?

Yes 71-72 axels are disc. I'm doing the same conversion with my 68 panel. It's going on a 70 4x4 frame. I already have a 72 front axel.
