Torsion bar change?
I have a '94 3/4ton ex.cab longbox 4x4, and find the ride just brutal. It's great for hauling heavy loads, but empty, I get bounced all over. The truck has the torsion bar suspension in the front, and an 8-leaf spring package in the back. I'm planning to pull 2 or 3 leafs from the rears, and reposition them as overloads, but I'm wondering what can be done about the front. Are there options for torsion bars? Are there lighter sets that allow more flex? Can they be turned on a lathe to decrease the diameter?
I'd like to get some feedback on my options with this. Thanks! |

Re: Torsion bar change?
I did the TB lift too (just cranked them) and I get bounced around a little more too, but then again I have the original shocks on my '95 1500 so they're worthless right now. I'm replacing my shocks in a few weeks that I anticipate to help a lot. I'm assuming that you're right though, and putting half ton TBs may help.
