Another Temp Gauge ?
Haven't had the factory temp gauge working yet. Picked up a BWD thermister type sending unit, wired it in and the gauge moves about a fuzzy hair when the engine is at op temp.
I did check the gauge, grounded the "green wire" and it went full hot. So I'm guessing the gauge is good? I have a 96 Vortex 350 and it I have mounted the BWD #WT723 sender into the left cyl. head. Any clues? ![]() |

Re: Another Temp Gauge ?
Well; after a trip to Napa Auto parts, picking up a TS6469 ECHLIN temperature gauge sending unit, running around town to find a 3/8" NPT die, ten minutes on my lathe and threading the sender, BINGO!!! It works GREAT!!!
![]() Thanks again VetteVet for the useful information to "EROC". I read his thread and decided take that course. Temperature indicated is just about the 3/8 sweep on the factory gauge. Another great experience: walking into an auto parts store, buying a part for a 41 year old truck of the shelf!!! ![]() Last edited by L8brake731; 05-24-2011 at 01:14 AM.
