Steering wheel assembly question

I have a 66 C10 with the Deluxe steering wheel, (horn ring and whatnot) and i took it apart to change out a turn signal switch and pull the column out. Well now I cant figure out how to put the damn thing back together again! We cleaned p the shop a bit and some of the parts got mixed with a standard steering wheel and its parts from a 63. So if anyone could tell me what the parts are I need and the order they go in so its functional that would help out greatly. Thanks

Re: Steering wheel assembly question

Thats why you have your phone/camera handy when you take stuff apart. Goggle lmc I think they have a picture of how it goes.

Copied stuff.
1st to go in is the spring loaded contact plunger ... that's shown correctly installed in your 4th pic.

2nd is the flat spring metal washer (shown in your last pic). Note that it is tapered (not flat) and should be installed so the outer edge lies flat against the steering wheel. The inner edge should be slightly above the center part of the steering wheel (right around the nut). This is the part that makes electrical contact between the above mentioned plunger and the center of the steering wheel. So that area of the steering wheel right around the nut needs to be clean and rust free for good electrical contact.

3rd is the clear plastic spacer shown in your last pic.

4th is the metal cup (also shown in the last pic).

5th is the plastic ring with the 3 screws (shown in the last pic as well).

Finally the chrome cap with the rubber retainer ring goes on last.

Re: Steering wheel assembly question

We really need this subject in the FAQ section! Seems to be coming up a lot lately. We need an illustrated step by step process.
