What years Silverado 5.3 had drive-by-cable

I'm getting ready to look for a 5.3 vortec to swap into my 65 C10 and I would like to get one with a cable controled throttle body. I think the 99 thu 02 used the cable, 03 and up had electronic controls. Anyone know if this is correct?

Thanks

Re: What years Silverado 5.3 had drive-by-cable

It's either ALL 2003s or somewhere in the middle of the year of 2003 they swapped from DBC to DBW. I always look for 2000-02 for DBC engines. But if you get the TAC module and pedal from whatever truck the engine and harness/ECU came from, it isn't much harder to mount the pedal and TAC module.

You can just buy a cable drive tb , the ls1's are the same as the vortec trucks , you can buy them pretty cheap , if I were you I'd buy an ls6 intake to put on the motor too
