interior paint

I am working on the steering column for my 69. It's in primer right now.
I am undecided on whether to paint it all black or body color. Color inside and out will most likely be some shade of blue.
What are your preferences for steering column color?

My '69 truck is a factory light blue. The interior trim was a dark navy. This included the column, steering wheel, dash panel, door panels, etc. I like the contrast of a darker color against the light blue. I eventually converted everything to black, because they don't sell navy replacement parts anymore, and it was too hard to get paint to match. The contrast against the light blue interior paint looks even better IMHO. Here's a video I took after I installed my tach that should give you an idea http://youtu.be/oRZNwEmaBy8

Nice video B. Your truck sounds good too. I think I will be going with the medium blue inside and out so the black column would go well with the instrument panel and maybe black carpet. Also I'm not a stickler for originality.

And by the way everyone loved the puppy pics.

Thanks! Yeah, I think black against medium blue would look nice too

I like the contrast of the dark blue and light blue interior because it isn't all the same color. It's almost like having black columns because of the contrast change in the colors (which I like). Sometimes when the vehicle is red or green and its all painted the same color it's too much... I dunno... just my opinion I guess. So I would vote for black or dark blue.
