Mid 80s paint code

Trying to figure out the gray paint code from 86-87ish trucks. Its not silver but not charcoal. Its somewhere right in the middle. I've been looking at paint chips but can't figure it out.

Re: Mid 80s paint code

Yeah that's the top search result in Google. Still doesn't narrow it down. I was hoping someone with the color would post their paint code.

Re: Mid 80s paint code

Whereabouts in SE Mo?

My dad is from Senath and my mom is from Kennett.

They came north in the 1950's during the great migration to the auto factories.

Re: Mid 80s paint code

Keith, Did GM ever decide on why that color failed so often, my 84 is a Warranty Repaint and the owner opted for going all blue.

Re: Mid 80s paint code

UV exposure.

Normally it's an issue with lighter colors (like white) but it was sensitive to UV, causing delamination.
