1987 r-10 turn signal and volt gauge problem ? ? ?

so i had a dash light out top of the speedo area and reached up in behind the dash and swapped it no problem ........ now my 12 volt gauge and high beam indicator dont work and also my front side marker/turn signals dont flash unless the parking lights or head lights are on .

any idea what i might have done before i tear the dash out ?

all the rest of the lights work just fine .

Re: 1987 r-10 turn signal and volt gauge problem ? ? ?

well i took out the dash and even swapped the headlight switch . no change for the front side turn signals . then i took out the new led bulbs and swapped in 194 reg style and all good . so it looks like the flip/flop of the 2 wire polarity of this location just dont play with polarity sensitive led bulbs . humm got to play some more i guess . . when i was testing i guess it was with the markers on also and i never noticed this .

as for the volt gauge and high-beam light i found the printed circuit board was going bad with contacts not secure anymore so it was loosing connection . so i swapped in another good one i had to my cluster since years ago i did the chrome paint trick to mine .

Sounds like one of the traces on the plastic circuit board are tore and shorting out the signals (or grouds to that side of the ) dash components. I just went thru heck on mine to geth things working again. I had to go with a nother circuit board.
