New guy

Hello,
New member to the forum, but not new to forums. I've finally picked me up a project truck. I picked up my neighbors 71 Chevy C20 with a 350 and think a 350 transmission. He originally picked it up as a project for him but never got around to it. Ive heard it run twice in the 2 years. Its currently not starting but I think the gas has just evaporated out of the carb. I've already been lurking on here for different topics. I do know I want to do an electric fan, likely the jeep fan I read about. I am looking forward to posting pictures of progress as this is a fixer upper.

I am an auto tech by trade, with 16 years of fleet upkeeping, and was in the dealership life for about 3 years (Chevy and a used car dealership for a year).

This is a project for my 11 year old and myself. I plan on keeping it original, with a few personal tweaks/personalizations such as aftermarket steering wheel, billet grill, and electric radiator fan. Likely and aluminum fan as well. The truck already has a new edelbrock carbureator and intake on it. I have no carb experience so be ready for the carb questions lol.

edit. Was trying to log into my web album to post pictures but the website is not opening. Stay tuned for pics

Re: New guy

Thank you! Truck does looks pretty good. Typical rust spots at bottom of door (I've been reading up) and the rain gutter. I have no idea what you mean by dealer diamond plate, but its definitly diamond plate. How do I tell for sure? I do have a rear shot but looks like the sunlight messed with the focus

Re: New guy

A dealer bumper will have the dealers name stamped in the bumper.
