Question about 67 interior cab color paint

At a show this past Sunday I was told that 67 only interior paint came in one color no matter the color of the exterior, something I did not notice and or is this a standard or option thing, I believe he said sliver, it was a bit noisy. Thanks

Re: Question about 67 interior cab color paint

Don’t think so. I once had an all-original ‘67 with a white exterior and red-orange interior paint. I know they weren’t all red-orange inside.

Re: Question about 67 interior cab color paint

No, there were a few options like red, green, fawn, maybe a couple others.

Re: Question about 67 interior cab color paint

My 67 was vermillion on the outside and fawn inside. The fawn can be confused with silver as most have faded to a silver color by now. Underneath my floor mat you could see the "real" fawn color which is sort of a silver/gold to my eye.

Re: Question about 67 interior cab color paint

Fawn, red, light blue, and green were the available interior vinyl trim and interior paint colors for 67. Buyer choice was limited by exterior paint color chosen (except in the case of a special order).

For instance, in a white, off-white, black, or silver 67, you could get any of the 4 colors mentioned. If, however, you had a Dark Yellow exterior paint truck, only the fawn interior trim option was available without special order (and the interior paint color was keyed off of the interior vinyl color - so, if you had fawn interior trim in that dark yellow truck, your interior paint would be the interior paint shade of fawn (to complement the fawn vinyl trim).

Another good example is the "blues"... If you had a light blue or dark blue exterior paint 67, your interior trim color choices were "blue" or "fawn." And note that if you chose the "blue" interior trim (RPO 614), you got the blue vinyl trim and the interior paint was the "interior" paint code of light blue (different from exterior light blue), regardless of whether you ordered a light blue or dark blue exterior paint truck.

Re: Question about 67 interior cab color paint

Mine is a light metallic green interior, I was curious what the paint code might be. Does anyone know what the paint codes were for interior colors?

Your interior would have been medium green poly (Ditzler 43687) and the top of your dash would have been a flattened dark green poly (Ditzler 43693).

Re: Question about 67 interior cab color paint

GMC offered blue, green, red, and fawn interiors in '67. For the most part, fawn was the standard 'default' color, the other colors were most often seen in Custom and Super Custom trucks and were coordinated with the exterior color. Funny thing about about the fawn interiors was not only was the interior sheetmetal painted fawn but so were the door jambs and engine side of the firewall regardless of the exterior color. Truck looked like a cheap repaint. My truck was painted this way, Terrace Blue exterior and fawn interior. Have to say I didn't care for it, so I painted the interior (and door jambs!) Terrace Blue with a black seat and dash pad, and used a chrome and black dash bezel.
