Finally back on the road

I was at cruising the coast last October in Biloxi MS and out of give or take 20,000 vehicles I was one of the few to have a wreck. My friend that was with me is the painter at a body shop so I just had him take it with him. Well after 10 months it's finally back home!!
I'm going to attempt to upload some pics of the process but I sometimes struggle with that part.

I did a bunch of work to my Chevelle about 5 years ago. After putting it back together I took it to the alignment shop and on my way home someone slammed on their brakes in front of me. I tried to brake but I slid into him. It was about a 5-10mph impact. Enough to push the left side of the bumper into the fender because I turned right trying to avoid the impact. I was bummed to say the least. The car had all original sheet metal. I kept the car and it's on it's way to be a pro touring beast. It's good that you are putting the effort in. Some people would just sell it and be done with it.

Thanks Kirk. That sucks about your Chevelle but its good that you got it back right. Selling never crossed my mind. My friend actually called the owner of the shop as soon as we left the scene and told him that he was bringing a job back with him. My Jimmy was in really good shape already but now its in excellent shape!!! We went a lot deeper into it than what had to be done but a little extra effort never hurt!

Looks good. I drive my blazer here and there and hopefully I never get hit. I plan on putting a good amount of insurance on it soon. Never can be too careful.

Looks Good! Where did you get your cowl hood from and did you have any fitment issues with it?

I just realized that I never got the after pics loaded. Here is a few of them. I still had a few finishing touches to do (seats, tailight bezels, gas filler neck ring) but it felt really good to FINALLY have it back.

Sad part is that I live in south Louisiana and we just had a 500 year flood so after spending 10 months in the body shop up in dry Mississippi I had it back only 1 week before it had water over the headlights.

yea, had I not had the classic coverage on it insurance would have probably paid me around 1500 bucks for it. The insurance is actually way cheaper than I thought it was going to be

I believe it came from Keystone and it fit like a glove

thanks to the flood, everything got water in it. At least 4 gallons of water came out of the oil pan before any oil came out, transmission was full of water and rear diff had a lot of water. Got everything flushed out and decided instead of rebuilding everything that I would go with an LS swap so its now getting a 6.0 lq4, 4l65 transmission and 208 transfer case.
