Door leaks

So, all new door components installed: glass run channel, vent window rubber, cat wishers, exterior glass sweep, and door panel rubber seal. The door panels are not installed currently. Yesterday, a brief heavy rain and I found water in the cab 9no carpet yet. Seems the water is coming in via the exterior sweep (does not contact glass tight, so folds under generally. The water seems to follow window lift arms, bounce off of arm track and into cab via large window regulator access hole. Is this normal? I am thin of install a plastic sheet vapor barrier over this hole before door panel goes on.

Re: Door leaks

Those peskie paper and or plastic sheets are in there to keep the water inside the door and out of the inside of the truck. The interior door panel should push the glass out a bit closing the gap between the glass and the exterior glass sweep.

Re: Door leaks

Here is a link to something I discovered on my Burban that may help explain your leaks. 4 windows mean twice as many leaks.

Re: Door leaks

Thank you for the link. I do have new Sponge rubber cords glued on the door and I figured what the oval holeS were for. Just cannot believe so much water makes it to the inner panel.

Re: Door leaks

HO455,
I noticed you have door speakers just below the weep holes.
Any issues with the speakers getting wet?
Thanks
