Question What do you use your Truck for???

Do you use it as a Work Truck, Week-end driver, Play toy, show, cruizer, being restored, Tore apart, etc??

Just curious, Also if you have a pic of you Truck post it too, Some info about it (highs and lows) etc.

I think this will be a enjoyable Thread :p

Thanks

A little about mine,
I have a 72 chevy long bed, C-10
It was my Parents, and given to me as a First car.
It was a work truck and abused.
I had it for a while, I started about 1 1/2 years ago tearing apart the front end and restoring it, I almost finished the Engine and have the front end put back together. I got custon licence plates (SEVEND2) I cant wait to put the bumbers on to put the plates on!
I have been working on the inside, Right now i just have a seat cover and for carpet i got some Temp, blue indoor out door stuff, till i can get it done right. well its White paint, red and gray primer and rust, I am really hoping to enter it in a show at the end of June, as under contruction.
I dont have any pics scanned yet, but soon as i do i will try and post.

Thanks

I mainly use mine as an ego booster, making me think that I look bad ass in it, and that it will help me get some off of chicks that are into guys with old trucks... just kidding.

Right now I'm trying to clean my truck up; most everything works and it runs good, but I'm prepping it for a paint job and it needs some minor detail work, but nothing major.

My parents bought the truck in 1977 from a guy that was an avid camping enthusiast. He ordered it from the dealer with the camper and dual saddle tanks installed, along with the CST package and a bunch of other options. My parents rarely used it as a camper, and it was basically sitting in our driveway for over 20 years just deteriorating and rusting away. So around Feb. this year I started work on restoring it. I started by removing the camper (I have to thank my uncle for letting me store it on his property in the desert) and then I began work on sanding down the body and primering it. I'm not too far into it right now, but the work is slow and steady.

There is a link to a picture of the interior in my signature; it shows how well preserved it was because of being shaded by the camper, despite being parked outside for 35 years.

Right now I'm using it mostly to just cruise around town at the end of the week, even though it looks pretty ugly with grey primer on the bedsides and hood, and the red primer showing through the paint on the cab on the areas where I sanded it down, and then the black primer showing through the original paint on the front fenders

Right now my 70's primary use seems to be yard art and stimulating intellectual question from the wife like...will it ever run again.

The 70 is mainly therapy and a fun truck. I have my 96 for daily driver and haul what ever needs hauling besides me and my backside. Neither are show trucks, so both will always be used for some sort of truck thing

My 69 short stepside has an easy life with me. 99% cruising and 1% hauling. Can't haul much in these anyway.

Im building up a 71 C-20 that will be my mule. I refuse to perfect the inside of the box on this truck for this very reason! Once you make them nice, it's hard to put anything in it.

I pull my boat with mine, haul wood, pull stumps, pull sleds at the tractor pull, drive it to work, play in the mud, play in the snow, push cars around in the pasture. It's got a pretty easy life now compared to what it had before I bought it.......it has been a coyote rig most of its life.

mine is garage art, I have 16 years before the son is old enough to drive it. I have had the truck like for 5 years now. I got to thrash it and beat it and jump it. then I fell in love with it, and started the restore. Pic's of the progress link at bottom of my post Kevin's truck pics.

Mine is a daily driver (well, as daily as it gets when you live in a dorm on campus), hauler (Tucson to Phoenix and back most weekends), work truck (moving), and fun truck (15.7's at 86.6).

No wonder I'm putting nearly as many miles on it as most people do their new cars, hehe...been driving since Jan 2000, put on roughly 30,000mi since then...

Weekend driver, occasional work truck, and long-term restoration. Mine will never be a show truck, but I'd like to think I'll still be poking around town in it when it turns 40.

One is for cruising and drag racing, one is torn apart, and one is for towing, mudding and daily driving.

The 69 is my daily driver, the 52 is driven when the 69 is taking up room in the garage or when I need to haul stuff.
