Custom LED Tail Lights

Greetings,
I have aftermarket tail lights in the roll pan of one of our trucks. They use normal 194 light bulbs for the tail and 1156 for the brake/turns. These are very dim. I want to build a set of LED panels to fit into the existing housings with the same lens. I have not been able to find a "cut to fit" or a good set of instructions. I know that several people have built custom lights, So any help would be much appreciated. The lights are 1-inch tall by 5-inches long.

Re: Custom LED Tail Lights

Check out LED trailer lights, there are slim rectangular units that you may be able to repurpose the guts from.

ebay 600 ohm resistor, single led.. cost about $10 for 50 or more.. i like to wire my own.. the resistor lets you put the led direct to 12 volts.. lot of sights here that will show wiring 20 leds to one resistor.. i like to do my own.. it is easy, after the first one..
