Post Tilt steering colomn info.

I found with only a little drilling that a tilt colomn from a 1979 chevy caprice/impala is the same length as the one for my truck. Just thought I'd pass this on.

Im with billogna, van tilt columns work fine in an emergency, personally I owulndt ever install any other column into a 67-72 except van or correct truck one,

now for 73-up trucks thats a whole other ball game, i would put my cadillac telescoping and tilting column in one
unless i sell it if anyone is interested in it for cheap like 40 bucks ? wheel and all, saving $4 for college now finally like i sdhould have been about 10 years ago.,,.

good luck ARTEMIS ! do you have that name on license plates by chance ?

Fast68Chevy, I was going to put the column from a '77 Coupe de Ville in my '74 Sub, but the all-the-way-in position on the Caddy column was where the fixed position was on the Sub. I wanted the column so I could get the steering wheel farther away from me(I'm 6'-3"),not closer to me, so I just sold it at a swap meet.

On my '69, I slid my column as far forward as I could, I got more than an inch more of room now, but it was a pain adjusting the back-up switch because it's so close to the firewall now.
