Rear bumpers what is everyone doing?

Many of the older trucks never had rear bumpers on them. What is everyone coming up with?

Lets see some pics

as for me, I am not sure what to do yet, make a roll pan and not have a bumper? then I see something like this and say wow!

Yeah thats true you always think you have what you want in your head and then you see something better and then your back to square one. Love that bumper but I think I will stick with a roll pan.

Re: Rear bumpers what is everyone doing?

I'm trying to build a roll pan based on this cardboard mockup. I won't be able to use the exhaust cutouts because of the rear mounted gas tank but will probably use an extra set of front park lights as back up lights there. I could also bead roll it or cut little vent holes on each side like the late model Vettes...I'm just tired of seeing the standard square tag box and I've never like the fit of the 55-66 bumper.

Re: Rear bumpers what is everyone doing?

My 58 fleetside has a roll pan on it from when I bought it. I'm going to cut some openings & put a stock bumper behind it. I guess i'm from the old school.

Re: Rear bumpers what is everyone doing?

The rear bumper I have for my '51 has been broke off at the first bolt hole on one side so my plans are to grind it to match the other side, weld up the mounting holes and re drill new ones. So I'll have a smaller stubby bumper out back, I'm thinking this will look interesting and more perportionate with the back.

That one is sort of early 60's Corvette-ish.
