Having problems with a 350 need help ASAP

I bought an 1987 c10 recently and the orginal engine was a 305 I'm thinking and the guy put in a 350 crate with engine work done to it. Well I noticed there was a lot of wires not being used and went no where. So last night I decided to start cleaning them up a little and went to cutting wires. Well that wasn't the smartest thing I've ever done. Now the truck cranks and runs but I hit the gas petal and it back fires threw the carb and doesn't idle anymore it just dies out slowly. They had a box that was connected that I took of that had numbers on it and c4.....and another TW with a diagram on it. A few guys told me the timing is off now but how can that be possible by just cutting dead end wires? Can someone please post a diagram of what I need to wire up and what I can take out?

Check your distributor and see if its loose, you might of shifted its position while you were in there cutting wires. That's what happened to me a few weeks ago, i could not figure out what was going on until i realized the distributor was not bolted down tight enough.

If you can get it timed and running right, I wouldnt worry about the boxes you took off. They may have controlled the tbi, but you obviously don't need that anymore.
Also, you may still have a hei dizzy that senses/adjusts for engine knock via a sensor mounted on the side of the block and a contoller mounted under the dash on the passenger side. I guess i may be possible that has your timing off...I'm not sure about the process of bypassing the controller, but I'm sure it's possible without changing the entire dizzy....but like i said, see if you can get the timing set. If it runs good, then don't worry about it unless youre just curious (like a lot of us lol)

Not a good idea to cut stuff off willy-nilly without checking what they are. You become "That previous owner" .

Does the heater blower work?
RELAY HI/HI-LO BLOWER GM# 14036273

Does your carbureted motor use a mechanical fuel pump?
Metripak 620 Fuel pump Relay GM# 14103304

14103304 could be the fuel pump relay or the aux cooling fan relay (if equipped). Most likely its the fuel pump relay. Doubt that it is used any longer since you are Carb'd but..... you never know..... How did the PO get the fuel to the carb? Does it have a mechanical pump on the side of the block or ????
14036273 is the high blower fan relay. That is used for your heater / ac blower motor when on "high"

Flames coming out the carb tells me your timing is way way out or somehow you managed to get your spark plug wires mixed up. double check all the wiring for your ignition including the firing order of the engine by tracing each spark plug wire from the dizzy to the spark plug.

That's all i got for you, hope it helps

I have an electric fuel pump. The fan is manual and I Dnt have a/c or heater I had to take all of it out to bag it. All the spark plug wires haven't. Been touched since te last time I moved it. I think it's the time but it crazy bc right before I cut those wires she was running bc I had to move her into my shed. I closed the hood and walked away for a little bit
