Use the large ones. They are double clasp. The small ones are single.

Re: bear claw latches

If I was going to remove the vent window for a single window conversion (power), should i go with the smaller ones for clearance issues?

I have a thread subscribed somewhere that talks about it.

Re: bear claw latches

hopefully you are shaving the door handles, bearclaws don't have a locking mechanism or an easy way to hook up door handles.
my 58 doors are shaved, i installed new factory latches, no fabrication required.
easy peasy

I bought a set of large latches off a guy over at HAMB.....but am going to sell them because of no way to lock them with handles.

Re: bear claw latches

bear claw makes a period correct door latch that lets u use both inside an out side door handles, i have them on my 49 an they work great, the one thing i would recommend is turning your inside door mechanisim upside down an that puts your rod in the channel like chevy should have done in the beginning, an your door panels want b in the way, the only down side is your inside handles dont lock the doors anymore, so im just goin to put electric locks on mine,

Re: bear claw latches

if u use a electric selenoid on the latches u have no problum then, u can lock an unlock it by push button, an the door handles fit mine perfect
