Found em!!!!!

Digging through one of the out buildings and came across these.... The ol man found em many years ago, and never got to installing them..figured they "walked away" in the estate proceedings but low and behold..... Hanging on a nail behind a huge rats nest of old go cart frames and tractor parts...Gotta love crossing things off the list for free! Anyone know where to get those little plastic trim pieces for the handles? Going with the original 503 light green inside....

Re: Found em!!!!!

The plastic things are called escutcheons. About $3 each from most vendors.

Re: Found em!!!!!

So most of the reproduction pieces im finding are black... Save for a couple in red blue and dark green..none that are claiming factory colors.... Are they supposed to be black? Or do u just paint them with the door panels? Does that route take different paint for the plastic?

Re: Found em!!!!!

EDIT: I see now you need the light green, I was thinking blue. LMC carries green but who knows which green it is. Earnhardt#3 mentioned the truck parters...send a PM to tee it up, he may have em. Or ksma75

Re: Found em!!!!!

Ask some of the guys who part a lot of trucks out in the parts board. They probably have good originals. I'd guess they'd sent you a pair for $10 or something.

SEM makes paints and dyes for plastic, vinyl etc. You should be able to find them at a good parts store or online. Having said that, I don't think I'd want to paint escruc....escrust.....those plastic things as the paint probably wouldn't hold up to the wear.
