Bed floor repair?
So Im making a trailer out of an extra long bed. The bed floor isnt too bad but it does have a few smaller dents and dings. I will be having it Rhino lined eventually.
I have seen several trucks that have been Rhino lined, but the little dents and dings still show up through the lining. I was thinking of making a template of the bed groves out of a plastic bondo spreader so I could spread a thin layer of bondo over the offending dents and dings. Smooth em all up and THEN have the bed liner sprayed. This seems like a good way to me to make a nice straight floor and have a nice smooth liner coating. I dont think the bondo will chip out with the coating over it. I know it would chip out for sure without it. What do you guys think, good idea, or bad?

If you aren't going to use it as a truck, it should be ok. If you actually haul anything, I think it will crack underneath the lining and look like hell after a short period of time. Probably won't come out due to the toughness of the liner, but I think it will look bad after some use.

Is this going to be a painted up nice "show" trailer you use a little here and there and then pull it behind a truck to a show, or just a regular old utility trailer? If it's the latter I wouldn't even spend the $ for a lining, seems like a waste?
As for your question, as long as they're "dings" and not huge dents I think it would be fine. I acutally plan on doing the same to mine somday (thanks for the template idea) but mine won't see more than a bag of trash or two or a cooler.

Only dings, nothing big. Not really a show trailer, but it will be finished up nice and have nice wheels and tires. Im probably going to build a canopy for it too.
It will be used for light hauling kind of stuff. And toss pit bikes etc for our trip to Bonneville every summer.

That sounds pretty cool. You should cut it down to a shortbed though so you piss off everyone who thinks you wasted a nice factory shortbed on a trailer
