shocks for a bagged truck

What kind of shocks should I run when I bag my truck? I was looking at the belltech nitro sport truck drop shocks 2 or whatever for the front and rear, but im assuming I should just by the ones that are suggested for the biggest drop right? Or is there a way i should measure my set up to figure out what kind to get?

Re: shocks for a bagged truck

your shock needs to have as much travel as your bags. I like the Toxic shocks, they are cheap and proven.

Depends on how low ur going too...

I used 1950 chrysler imperial shocks. Extended/collapsed height worked perfect and both sides have the "eye" style ends to run a bolt through like stock shocks

Re: shocks for a bagged truck

I would suggest shock extenders when bagging. If you keep the stock location, you need a really short shock to be able to collapse all the way when aired out. This will limit your up travel as well. A drop shock will not collapse all the way if you are bagging a truck using this stock upper shock location.

Best way is to get a relocation bracket, such as a Porterbuilt.

That is exactly the kind of information I needed! Thanks a lot!

Re: shocks for a bagged truck

Is there someone that makes one of those but has a stud on it so you can use the stock eye/eye shock?..

Re: shocks for a bagged truck

Yes, they make one, but it is taller because it is used for the Dropmember trucks.

For something on the cheap, these are the factory 73-87 mounts cut off the rear end housing used with 1980s Jeep CJ5 rear shocks on the front of an 85 C10.
