rear shock mount: bolt or stud?

1971, 2wd, lwb. Went to change rear shocks and discovered that the lower mount was a stud same size as front shock upper stud. The eyelet in the shock I purchased to fit the truck would not fit stud. I looked in vendors catalogs and it seems the lower mount uses a bolt. I could not find this information in the assembly manual.

So, my question: Should it be a stud or a bolt? If stud, where to get on the proper diameter/size?
