EPA to outlaw hot rodding?

OK, something like that. Look here and sign the petitions to keep the EPA from outlawing our sport!

http://bangshift.com/general-news/se...nto-race-cars/

Hope this does not violate any rules- I just want to make sure this has been seen!

Re: EPA to outlaw hot rodding?

Saw this before as well, its all over the SEMA lobby and other places.

Its pretty simple to me; if they ban hot rodding before they manage to outlaw guns...well, then at least it won't go easy.

*PSA* everything should be legal, period.

This isn't the first time this has come up, and it won't be the last.

Yep and they will just keep chipping away at it until it does pass in the dark hours of night when everyone is sleeping or watching tv and not paying attention to anything else just like they do their pay raises, and all the other laws they pass that we dont like UNTIL AFTER they have passed.....

React people.... really it doesnt take that much. Screw the petition, call your congressman, yes you can GOOGLE your local State reps by county or do a search for them here:

https://www.opencongress.org/people/zipcodelookup

Call them and leave a message.... be nice!

^^thats the attitude that lets things like this get passed. Fearmongering is dangerous, but complacent inaction and apathy is even more toxic.

Exactly! I signed it. The EPA will continue to stop alterations to vehicles no matter what. It's how they generate money......................

Yeah. Good job protecting us....

The EPA has caused more damage to the environment in the last year than all of us on this board together have in our whole lives.

Re: EPA to outlaw hot rodding?

They're trying to save the earth by making engine manufacturers design engines that burn more fuel but put out cleaner air than they take in. Makes sense...................

Re: EPA to outlaw hot rodding?

Now, if we were all polluting rivers or supplying heavy metal contaminated water to a city, we'd all be OK. Re-purposing a vehicle for a race car, we're the devil incarnate. Go figure.

Re: EPA to outlaw hot rodding?

The engine oil in our vehicles have less heavy metals than that water...I feel so bad for the folks.

Re: EPA to outlaw hot rodding?

Try to keep this non political. I cant even share my thoughts within the rules of this site but I will say.... Divide and conquer strategy is at work here. Its the same thing that's happened with guns. The hunters sat back and said they aren't coming after my stuff I don't care about those other guns...... They aren't coming after my care I don't care is not the proper response. Rights are being chipped away slowly. Eventually there wont be anyone left to defend you. Everyone should stand up for everyone elses rights and we wouldn't have near the issues we have now.

Everyone play nice and try to stay non political.

A well-intentioned statement that reflects the spirit of this forum, but this is a 100% political issue. Not trying to be contrary, it just is.

You are 100% correct but we can still discuss without causing issues per the site rules. The rules were put in place a long time ago over issues that arose when there were less than 10k members. Most adults know where this nonsense is coming from and it doesn't need to be mentioned. Everyone can discuss their dislike without getting political too much. Like I said I have to bite my own tongue most of the time. Im way more reserved on here than I ever would be in person.

As soon as I found that long lost rich uncle to leave me money..... Lol seriously though funding is an issue. As soon as possible I will. Until then I will live through you guys helping to fix everyone elses junk instead of playing with own junk. LOL. Its driving me nuts just not having a truck.
