Im in the process right now on my '70. Im using '71-'72 spindles and 71-72 upper and lower ball joints along w/ outer tie rod ends, brake lines and master cyl/ booster. Been working on it for weeks gathering and changing parts, just hope it all works when finished....I think the 67's are the same, someone else my want to chime in, good luck.

Also you want to use the same stuff..1/2 ton to 1/2 ton. 3/4 to 3/4.

To bad you aren't closer to Kansas. I'd make you a deal on a complete 5 lug front cross member with discs, spindles, a-arms, springs, calipers and proportioning valve. Won't fit my 6 lug 4x4, bought the truck for some other parts and am slowing piecing it down. Shipping would be a bit much I'm sure. Can you say "road trip"

right now I am in the process of puting my 67 on a 71 frame, something easier to do is find a 71-72 frame/truck and take the cross member and rear axle from in and put under yours, good luck.

You are after it properly.....watch the steer stops on the lower arms. 67 to 70 have different steer stops, & will shorten the steer radius......you can grind the stops, or go 71-72 on the lower arms to correct the problem. also, the center link/tierod assys can be a problem. i didnt have any problems with my 69 on the center link, but some of the guys have stated that they have had problems. As a rule, 71 up on the center link & tierod assys will get you square(there is not enough info on the center link, to say much more). You can also use the 73 up spindles, with the corresponding ball joints & outer tierod end(bottom ball joint is the same as 71-72, but the taper is different on the pin for the upper).....taper is different on the outer tierod end also(71-72....then 73 up) 67-70 are also different. I did not swap the crossmember, & see no need to......some of the brake hose brackets are different, but a welder will fix that little problem. to do the job the 2nd time around, I would get everything(including steer linkage from the same truck)......but I still would not mess with swapping the crossmember(unless its cracked/rotted). Good luck, crazyL

My 69

Had a narrower rear end so I am in the process of making a spacer plate to make up the difference.I t came out around 3/4" shorter on each side of my 69 housing. And yes it was a stock rear end and yes my 72 axles were longer so it was not a direct swap for me like I was told by some . C-YA

Crazy Longhorn, thanks for the tips....I can deal with grinding the steering stops but hopefully I wont need to deal with the center link.

Gm went to the wider rear end in the later part of 1970 production. Mine was wider.

Keep on Truckin......PM me if you want to buy a whole disc brake front end for your truck. Complete from rotor to rotor off a 72 Chevy 1/2 ton- 150 dollars. I'm in Fort Worth too.

Here it is. I'm posting it for sale on the parts board too. Ask if you need other pics of it, I took plenty.
