Replacing Tie Rod ends.
Hey all. I will be replacing both the inner and outer tie rod ends on my truck soon and would like to know if anyone has any suggestions/tips/tricks for making it go smoothly.

tie rod ends
if you can afford, do the pitman arm, drag link, and bracket assembly. have you completely traced the problem (loose steering?) to the tie rod ends
make sure that you have a true pitman arm puller. a small push/pull hydraulic ram would help too, believe me. rich

Rich, as for finding the problem, a friend who is GM certified looked under it and was able to move the tie rod quite a bit. Said that was my problem. When driving, the steering wheel shakes back and forth. Also the BF Goodriches on the front are wearing very badly. High spots all around.
As for the other parts you suggested, do you have a guess on the total price? I have priced the ends for $80.

Richard, thnx for the tips. After we got the truck up and looked underneath we found the pitman and idler arm bearings were bad also.
