I'm sure liking the new paint colors on new cars

I've been noticing lots of "new" colors on new cars and trucks. I don't know if it's the right word, but solid comes to mind. Or maybe it's the earth tones. Lots of shades of khaki, sage greens to browns. Heck, I even like the light grey on the ford raptor trucks. Even the whites and blacks seem somehow whiter and blacker. I saw one of those boxy Sions (sp?) the other day in a burnt orange and it was probably the longest I've ever looked at one of those things

Re: I'm sure liking the new paint colors on new cars

I see some great colors on cars, but if there are great colors for GM Trucks I'm not seeing any. It seems all I see are greyish this and greyish that. I was just thinking if I got a newer truck good old Victory Red is about the only color I'd want. I can't do black, even though you can't go wrong with it.

Re: I'm sure liking the new paint colors on new cars

I'm not loving them.

I'm seeing a lot of what I would call "Baby Poop Pea Green Metallic" with just a touch of gold in it.

This too shall pass. If you stick with classic (ie, classy) colors like red and black they will never go out of style.

Re: I'm sure liking the new paint colors on new cars

Theres a really nice forest green on a newer chev truck that I thought was great, but overall I am burnt out of the black, gray, and especially silver.

There are some good ones though, I just happen to like louder colors over sedate earth and mineral tones.

Have to hand it to Dodge (even though im not a fan of their stuff) for making the best color pallette out there. The orange on the Dart and I think ram trucks is just beautiful, similar to "Vitamin C" from the muscle years.

I see only red.

Actually, I do like some of the new colors, but new cars don't give me chills anymore.

There is pretty nice orange available on the Colorado. And the blue Denali my buddy just bought is very nice. I'm not a blue guy but it is nice. I still like the reds. The tri coat white is really nice if you like rich looking white

The iridescent pearl tricoat should be pretty. It's a $995 option on the Tahoe.

There is a newer boxy car (can't remember what it is) that is a perfect match to ochre that I've seen running around lately.

Two tone paint schemes seem more uncommon.

Re: I'm sure liking the new paint colors on new cars

interesting post, I have been noticing some too, I also like the non metallics as it seems every single car is metallic this or that these days, show some love for the flats, ha ha, but as the original poster listed, we still live in a chicken sheet world where no major manufacturer has the huevos to offer some bold colors, they all do the baige, gray, silver, charcoal, light gray, dark gray, all they do is come up with exotic names for stupid shades of the same hue, count the gray cars today as you drive around, there is one at every light stopped next to you

Good point. My 99 Suburban is red w gray lower accent, the 94 Yukon my brother just found has this complicated two tone pattern. It's funny that I don't see these vehicles as that old. Suburbans and Tahoes aren't available in anything but a single solid color at present. Interior colors also seem very constrained anymore.

Yeah, more and more I'm seeing the 88-98s tie into the prior more than with the present, and they seemed so modern and different when they came out.

I have spotted some vivid maroon shades on Toyotas and some Chevy/GMC's.
