Poor Frank

Sometimes, as a man, I wonder how it would’ve had been great to live in the medieval ages. Your wife couldn’t stop you from going out to have a cold one with the boys. You didn’t have to do any household chores. And your wife obeyed all your commands. The “man” in the house, was the “man of the house”. The one who everybody answered to.

Frank had been reading this book called “You Can Be The Man Of Your House” for the past few days. It made him believe that he too could make his dream come true, and have his wife listen to him for once! When one day he finished reading the book, he was all pumped with energy, enthusiasm, adrenaline, machismo, patriarchy, and what not!

He barges into the bedroom, where his wife is reading some novel. He “announces”, “From this moment forward, I AM the man of this house. My word is law. And you shall obey all that I say.”

“Now, go to the kitchen and prepare me a gourmet dinner. After I’m done with my food, you’re going to come back here, and do the things I’ve always wanted.”

“When we’re done, you’re going draw me a nice relaxing bath. And when I’m back, you’re going to massage my hands and feet.”

Frank’s wife was looking at him with shock and awe. She didn’t understand how he got the courage for all this.

“Come tomorrow, and somebody is going to dress me up and comb my hair. And guess who that’s going to be?”

Finally, his wife puts down the novel, adjusts her robe, and says, “Well, my guess would be, the funeral director?!”

Frank slouches from his broad-chested stance, picks up his pillow, and starts to walk towards the couch.

Most women like the strong, silent type… Fortunately for me, my wife prefers the out-of-shape, mouthy type.

Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift.
Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God!

The ability to speak several languages is an asset, but the ability to keep your mouth shut in any language is priceless.
