1997 K10 gear ratio code??

A friend of mine needs a rear end for his 1997 K10. Other than spinning the tires and counting is there a code some where on the axle itself that will tell me what ratio it is? If so, where is it located? The code sticker is still in the glove box if that helps. thanks

Re: 1997 K10 gear ratio code??

Look at the “RPO” codes on the sticker in the glove box.

Axle ratio by RPO code

GU2 = 2.73
GU4 = 3.08
GU5 = 3.23
GU6 = 3.42
GT4 = 3.73
GT5 = 4.10

G80 = Eaton Gov-Loc limited slip unit

Did you give the model, year, engine, fuel system type, and transmission information?
If it is modified from what came stock from the factory, let us know that too.
