weatherstripping vendor preference

opinion on aftermarket weatherstrip dealers

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

hey fellow truck owners, i am restoring my 71 lwb c/10, and am looking to buy a complete weatherstip set including vent window seals and window felts, before i paint the truck i want to have the new stripping in hand. i have been purchasing aftermarket parts from both southern kentucky and brother's , and have been happy with the quality of both of their product lines. i know that weatherstripping is very critical when it comes to a proper seal. my question is, have any of you purchased from either of these companies, when it comes to the weatherstrip kits, and how satisfied were you with, the quality of the weatherstipping, fit, and seal. there seems to be a large price difference between the same kits from one company to the other. southern kentucky has a kit for 179.00 , but the brothers kit that includes the vent window seals is 264.99. ( it also includes all of the misc. rubber bumpers)
southern kentucky has a kit with all of the rubber bumpers for 219.00, but all of the little rubber bumpers aren't a nessecity for me.
in advance, thank you all for your opinions

Re: weatherstripping vendor preference

I bought mine from Classic Chevrolet parts in Oklahoma City. Everything fit really good. I also buy a lot of parts from Classic parts of America in Missouri. Real happy with everything I bought from them and they usually have it all in stock. Brothers is good stuff but more expensive. Bought my windshield & back glass rubbers from GMC Pauls and they fit very nice.

Don't buy the cheap one on ebay, it doesn't fit without lots of trimming.

I heard nothing but good things about the Precision brand. GMC Pauls carries them.

GMC Pauls. Hands down. Their push on door weatherstrip is incredible. Talk to Paul, you wont regret it. I have Steele felts on my truck now and they're good too. .. but the door weatherstrip from GMC Pauls could be twice the price and I'd still buy it.
