cab corner patch panel
Has anyone used a cab corner patch panel that you were happy with and thouht it fit well? I have one here that is 3/8" longer than the cab. I'm thinking another manufacturer may be better. Also, are there any panels that are american made? I would appreciate any help or suggestions.

Re: cab corner patch panel
There was a post about this a while ago. I just used a pair of TRI-PLUS and they fit fine.I have another pair of them ready to be tried too so we will see how it goes. I hear TABCO is the ones to have they are made in the good ol USA. They come unprimed from what I hear so scuff them up and spray a coat of epoxy on them. I have 5 or 6 more trucks to build this style at my shop when I get to them so I plan on trying different parts during those to find what I like best. Jim

Thanks for the reply. Have you ever heard anything about Goodmark or Year-one panels? They are twice the money of LMC and Tabco.

Re: cab corner patch panel
The last ones I used were TRI PLUS from the cab "kit". In fact I'm putting a truck in the shop this morning to put on the rh cab corner change the front bed panel and some other things.

Re: cab corner patch panel
I have used both Tabco and Tri-plus on my 70. The Tri-plus "fit the best" but the body line and jam edge was way off. The Tabco is thinner metal and had a great body line/door edge but the rest fit like crap.
The D/S corner is all Tri-plus that I had to cut into 3 pieces to fit. The P/S is 2 parts Tri-plus and one part Tabco. My truck had significant damage and rust in both areas. Sorry not pics. Ill try and post some later today

Re: cab corner patch panel
I put on a rh tri plus today. It didn't fit as well as the drivers but I did a little work on it to suit me. I'm a little harder to please than say even my dad or my son on the parts fitting. Like on the rocker I had decent fitting rockers that most would have been happy with but I made pie cuts and few other alterations just to suit me. I did the same to the cab corner on this RH side of this 69 I'm working on. I made some slices on the bottom by where the inner rocker is welded to the curve in the cab corner where it turns around the back of the cab the curve was too wide. I made some slices there and narrowed up the curve, fixing the problem or at least the one I perceived. Jim
