Ever since I bought my truck my high setting on my fan and AC did not work as well as my cigarette lighter. I was under my dash to fix my neutral safety switch and found the cigarette lighter wire not plugged into the fuse box. plugged it in and now my high setting on my fan and heater control works.
Im guessing these are wired somehow to the same fuse. Does anyone know off hand?

maybe it might help others trouble shoot if they happen to have the same problem.

I would say someone wired it up that way to make a cig lighter work
If you look at the control panel I would think you will find a connector tapped into the power wire

I have almost the exact same problem with my truck. The high setting on my fan didn't work and neither did the cigarette lighter. They were spliced together and wired into the CIG port. The connector was melted, and the fan was only getting about 8.7V. I replaced the wire and hooked it up to the relay. I now 12V for the fan, but still can't get high to work, so I ordered a replacement relay. We'll see if that works. Where is the fan power supposed to be hooked up to the fuse box, and how did you get yours working?

With the other fan settings, the voltage changes to run the blower slower. Have you tried a voltmeter to see what you get when the switch is on high? There is a blower motor resistor that changes the voltage but I believe that the high speed is straight 12 V to the blower.

How is it spliced is it a cheapo butt connector or soldered here's a diagram of the ac circuit it shows the hot side of the high speed relay plugged into the cig port.
