My 70 SWB build thread

I am starting my own build thread. I am about 2 months into it. I paid $100 for the truck just before it was going to the crusher.:)

For me...

The bell rings, I drool, I look and I learn.

Then back to my corner. This place is a wealth.

350 V8 I am replacing the 4 speed with a auto. 2.5" drop in the front and 4" drop in the back with disc brakes at all 4 corners.

My wife will probably make me live in the shop by the time I'm done with this project. At least it has a toilet in it.

I've never been to Minn. but that truck looks pretty dry for being that far north. Great buy for $100.

Re: My 70 LWB build thread

The frame was sandblasted then I put a self etching primer on, next a filler primer to cover up some of the pitting and finally Martin Senour catalyzed enamel for the top coat.

Here is a little update on my progress. I got some of the front suspension back together and I am in the process of building rear trailing arms.

Re: My 70 LWB build thread

an understanding wife... why is this such a rarity? would she rather i be in a bar or working on my car? (truck that is)? women just can't be happy no matter what you do, therefore dont bother. mine is tolerant but theres a limit. if only i'd work on mine in our garage shed be happier but she'd complain her car (that i bought) would be outside. oh well. wheres my wrench?
