vortec head ?
i have a set of 906 vortec heads i am going to run on my 350. my cam lift specs are .479I .465e. will these heads work with new springs or will they have to be machined?

I think you can run comps beehive spring with no problems but I would take them to a shop and have them check before you put it togather and tear something up.

I have run a similar cam in an engine with Vortec heads that were upgraded to the 981 springs with no retainer to guide/seal issues. However you should always check your particular combination for proper clearances.

Are you running flat tappet or roller cam? It may make a difference, factory vortec springs are light pressure for rollers.

i am running a flat tappet cam. i am not running the stock springs. i bought the springs recomended for this cam.
