3 prong bulb wiring
Hey guys....im trying to run two three prong bulbs in the front of a project of mine. any idea how i could wire these up...im pretty good with wiring but im having trouble figuring out how to wire these to a toggle switch and what not...
Couple questions.. I want to, but can i run these straight off of my battery? How can i wire them to a toggle switch so that when i flip it on both come on? not worried about brights/dim switch right now.... diagrams work best for me....im too dumb to get it all from just reading it but any information at all would be most appreciated!! |

Re: 3 prong bulb wiring
If I understand you right then this is what you want but it is wired with relays.
If you don't want the relays then just connect the toggle switch to the brown and green wires above the relays. You will need a SPDT switch or single pole double throw switch. It will be hot from the battery to the center of the switch and then hot to either position when switched.

Re: 3 prong bulb wiring
good diagram vette. would like to add that the SPDT switch would need to have center off or the lights would be on all the time or add a SPST (single pole single throw) as an on/off switch to the power wire going to the the SPDT which would then act like the dimmer switch.

53GMC: No problem glad to help.
Vette I don't know...too many switches confuse me. I dread having to reset my radio everytime I disconnect the battery, the clock is 5 minutes slow and I'll live with it. I don't what's worse 15 switches or 1 switch that does 15 things.

I hear ya. Actually I'm much better on mechanics and hydraulics than I am on electronics. The fun thing though is that there is always something to learn.
