I really need some help with Edelbrock carb
I drove my truck a short distance for the first time tonight. The throttle cable is way too sensitive and the TV and throttle cable just don't look lined up right with the bracket I bought.
I bought Edelbrock specific cable brackets and geometry correction brackets. Seems like the brackets are too much at an angle and like I said, the throttle is way too sensitive. Haven't put the throttle return spring on yet either but am getting to that. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Here is the carb bracket I bought: http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performan...rentProductId= Here is the correction bracket: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-700203/

I can't answer that question but from the picture you have the distributor vacuum advance line on the wrong side of the carb unless you truck has anti pollution. It should go on the right.

Re: I really need some help with Edelbrock carb
thank you. Fortunately, this is a LS motor so it does not have a distributor. Anyone else have any ideas?

The bottom line on the TV system is your using mismatched stuff from different vendors. Fabrication/moving the TV cable bracket is going to be necessary to get it lined up with what you have. Dont leave it like that, The TV cable inner wire will saw into the plastic end. Is this pic before you did the cable adjustment procedure, I only ask because the adjuster is all the way in? |

Clinebarger,
I haven't adjusted it at all. I'm totally lost on how to do this. The throttle cable is very questionable too. Is there a bracket and geometry correction linkage I can buy that will work out of the box? Could I buy you lunch and have you show me? Jeff

http://www.bowtieoverdrives.com/cata...php?ITEMID=213 You will also need the $10 throttle cable bracket. STOP driving it untill this is sorted out! |

Agreed... don't drive it again, until you figure out the correct geometry for the TV cable, and get it adjusted right. You WILL damage your tranny if you keep driving it.

Re: I really need some help with Edelbrock carb
Thanks guys. Please be sure, I am not driving the truck. I drove it on the trailer once and that's it. I did more research today and found a kit I'm going to get. Clinebarger mentioned that I'm mixing and matching parts so I checked with Lokar and they have a complete set-up and since I already have a Lokar throttle cable, I may as well make it complete since it's known to work together. The adjustment for the TV cable is also right up my alley so I'm going to purchase it.
