Steering
Hey everyone, we would like to get your opinions on a steering set up for our 66 k20. We switched out the old axle for a dana 60. Were in the process of rebuilding the axle now and would like your opinions on a steering set up for the truck. Were not planning on doing a lot of 4 wheeling. Maybe just a little. We Would like to go down the highway without any problems. Thanks for your input, evan396/Dave.

Re: Steering
We went the crossover steering route on D60. Use it pretty much same as what you're wanting. It steers great with no issues on highway even at 75 mph. You can see what we did here http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=433190 post #21,23 & 28.

Re: Steering
Can't help you with the steering, but wanted to know about your front springs and shackles.

Re: Steering
Those are the original shackles and springs, the springs were redone at a local spring shop. Had my brother machine new pins for the front. Will have to pull the pins out after we get everything all mocked up and get them surfaced hardened .

Re: Steering
If no longer needed, please consider offering old removed parts for sale to other members. Some, like those k20 front drums are unobtanium and may make the difference in keeping another old truck on the road.
Good luck with your project. Tom BTW love the rolling jack stand setup you made, think I'm going to steal that idea.
