Duplicating the 350 HO crate
The other day, I was reading an old Car Craft magazine and they were dyno testing a 350 vortec HO (330hp). With headers and 2.25 exhaust, they made 341 hp @ 5400 and 383 tq @ 4000. I got to thinking, I have a similar set up in my truck. I have a vortec 350 (.040). The only differences are that I have the 268H Comp Cam .454/.454 218/218, a GMPP high rise intake with 3/4" spreadbore adaptor and a quadrajet with .73 jets. I also have longtube headers with 2.25 exhaust. Is it a safe bet that my engine is making similar power to the Vortec HO?

Re: Duplicating the 350 HO crate
Assuming your engine is perfectly tuned, then I would say you should be close. The HO 350 uses a split pattern cam with .435 intake .460 exhaust lift and 212/222 duration. I'm not sure what the LSA is though.

Re: Duplicating the 350 HO crate
Your in the neighborhood just keep in mind the street isnt a dyno room. Its amazing what an engine can do in the dyno room yet suck in the real world. Magazine tests spend lots of a time and money making engines get the most power.

Re: Duplicating the 350 HO crate
I was just curious as to how close my setup would be to that of the 350 HO. They seemed comparable.
