Question Kerosene question. . . . . .

Can I use kerosene to soak my carb in? I need to rebuild my AFB on my 69, and I have kerosene in the garage. So is it ok to use it? I need to get this done because I just got a another notice for the sniffer test. Here I am trying to have it sleep for the winter, now I have to take it out in the salt and get it tested. . .
