I really need some help with Edelbrock carb

I drove my truck a short distance for the first time tonight. The throttle cable is way too sensitive and the TV and throttle cable just don't look lined up right with the bracket I bought.

I bought Edelbrock specific cable brackets and geometry correction brackets. Seems like the brackets are too much at an angle and like I said, the throttle is way too sensitive. Haven't put the throttle return spring on yet either but am getting to that. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
