Barn Find - 46 complete truck - need advice!

I stumbled on a 1946 Chevy today (sorry no pics). It appears to be all original and is complete. It has some rust but just enough to look cool. It is 6 cyc. It runs and drives! needs brake lines but he said "we could drive it around the block and use the emergency brake!" I like it but I am not as familiar with this pre 47 trucks so here are my questions:

1 - Whats it worth - I know its hard without pics and yes I know it worth what I would pay for it - but give me an idea.

2. What should I look for when I go back to see it?

3. Am I over my head? I want to keep it simple, get it rolling good, running and stopping. Then drop it and drive it! Are these era trucks pretty straight forward?
