50 chevy 5 window resto

Hi, thought I would introduce myself. Came across this forum as I am looking for advice on restoring my truck.
Its a project I am doing with my 19 year old son and is now in its 2nd year. The truck is being modified and so far the following has been completed;
- chassis boxed
- jag front end fitted
- 4 link rear
- airbags fitted
- engine, box and diff installed from a v6 holden (we live in melbourne and engine size is restricted for my son having just passed his test)
- cab being converted to rhd.

Now at the stage where body is going in hi fill, rear bed panels rubbed down and hopefully getting painted this weekend.

I will post up pics of the resto but really need help in understanding how the bed bolts up. I will look through other posts but can anyone point me at suitable threads on here that could help us as the truck didnt come with the bed when we bought it. Do I need the wood to fix it together?
