65 C10 Stepside Frame What happened?

First time caller, long time listener, y'all have helped me answer many a question by going through others problems. BUT now I have a question.

I finally started digging into tearing her apart after 11 years of ownership. And well.... I found she had the wrong passenger side frame to engine mount (fixed now), tie rod welded, and the rear cross member is JACKED. I have scoured the internet looking for the right placement of the shocks and have not really found an answer, so here I am. Currently I am gonna have a buddy clean up the trashy welds and see where it goes. My question is anyone else have this problem? What are some of the "farmer fixes" you have encountered?

Oh little background on the truck, I believe it was a prior county rig and than it spent a while on a farm.
