60-66's with 3.42 ratio's and 700R4's please chime in

Hi All,

I searched, but didn't see any threads listed specifically for what I'm hoping to learn. I'm hoping to get input from people with SBC's and 700R4's in their 60-66's, that have changed their rear end ratio's over to 3.42. Preferably if they previously had 3.73 ratio's. I'm looking to do this and wanted to know if the acceleration difference between the two is that different. How about 4th gear acceleration on the freeway? MPG difference's? My motor is a stock 350 with 2.5" ram horns, and 2.25" dual exhaust with an x-pipe. Hopefully someone with a similar setup will see this and chime in. My truck doesn't have a whole lot of power obviously (being a stock 350), and I'm worried I won't like the acceleration of the higher ratio once it's all installed. Maybe it won't be noticeable? Hopefully I'm just worrying too much..
