Msd street fire hei meltdown

Hi guys, been having a bit of a low end stumble on my 350, decided that it was to do with the terrible timing curve on my streetfire dizzy. It's got the comp cams 268XE in so I think it wants a lot more timing in it a bit quicker, long story short I bought the msd spring kit to have a go and found a nasty suprise when I took the cap off. I have removed the hei guts and used md's own 'SUPER HEI KIT' so it runs a 6al box and an external blaster coil. Has any body seen this before? Was this my own fault even though these are all msd parts or do these china distributors just suck?
