horse-shoe small block engine mounts / oil pan

Hey All,

my truck has a (non original) v8, using the original type horse-shoe v8 mounts, and I am looking at doing the oil pump this weekend ... does anybody know if the pan will come out without lifting / pulling the engine?

2nd question - do I have to pull the starter to pull the pan?

Thanks guys!!
