Big block serpentine belt setup
I am trying to reinstall my serpentine belt system off a 1991 Suburban but have forgot how it all went together since I took it apart over 2 years ago. Anybody have some pictures of how this setup goes together? I have some of it mocked up on the motor all but do not know where the braces and such go. Thanks

bump...
What are the differences in serpentine set-ups through the years? I hear some are better then others. |

Re: Big block serpentine belt setup
As long as the already-installed components are where they should be, I would think your brackets should line up where the mounting bolts go ??
If your setup is close to my 5.7, the tensioner pully bracket straddles on the A/C compressor & an arm-brace to intake-thermostat bolt then a bracket accepts to bolts at alt-bracket / 3 bolts & below/behind A/C compressor. Boy,.... like 7 points to secure tensioner.... on a 5.7 I pulled a drawing from my '88 GMC service manual, showing a 7.4. Maybe this might help? ( I have no clue what that cylinder is, next to alternator)
