The speaker Kick panels I see for sale in the books, do they replace the panels that are already there or do they go over the existing panel, like the one in the FAQ?

have you found anywhere you can buy the blank ones to put your own speakers in? I am pretty sure they go over the top of your originals

Yea, those are the ones I am talking about, except the come pre loaded with 100 w pioneers. I did not want to cut the existing kick panel, and didnt know if anyone had installed these.

I looked in these kick panel’s speakers at one time.
I was told the reason that they have the pioneers already installed is that they are some of the only speakers that have a very shallow mounting depth.
This will enable you to install them over your existing panels with no cutting.
I checked the story and found this to be true. They are some of the shortest depth you can find.
I believe that there are some others being made which meet the same depth.
The main issue with these panels is that they get in the way of the dimmer switch when mounted in the stock location also on the later foot operated parking brake you will have to move it slightly out toward the passenger side to clear the speaker assembly.
You can buy just the panels and install your own speakers but you may have to cut your current panels to get the depth you need.
